Das OSS zwar kostenlos beziehbar aber nicht kostenlos betreibbar ist, stellt einen alten Hut dar (bei CSS kosten Anschaffung und Betrieb). Moodle beispielsweise war bei mir innert einer Stunde installiert und updaten ging bis jetzt auch immer schnell. Genaue Aussagen, was einen jetzt teurer zu stehen kommt, kann man nur machen, wenn sich konkrete Lernplattformen in einem bestimmten Anwendungsfall gegenüberstellt werden. Auch wenn der Artikel einige Schwachpunkte hat (siehe meinen Blogeintrag), finde ich die Schlussfolgerung interessant: Baggaley schreibt: ‚The recurring finding of these studies brings into question the wisdom of providing DE (Distance Education) students with ever more complex online learning systems; and it suggests the need to balance comprehensiveness of product features against clarity of usage….
